Vocalisms
VOCALISMS is a collection of 58 drum kits made from all kinds of vocal percussion: beatbox, shouts, buzzes, chirps, hard consonants, exaggerated vowels, and phonetic exploration. Each kit includes the standard drums such as kicks, snares, hihats, cymbals, and toms, along with melodic elements such as bass lip buzzes, tonal hits, and other sung one shots.
The sounds in VOCALISMS are 100% "orally originated", meaning that no non-vocal sounds were used and the human voice is the only sound source, even if it doesn't always sound like it. The vocal samples were processed in many different ways to give a broader palette of drum kit sounds.
The kits are divided into four categories:
- Advocal Kits (16): The driest and tightest kits, with more beatbox sounds than the others.
- Evocal Kits (17): Among the most effected kits in the library, each with its own style of production.
- Havocal Kits (13): The most aggressive kits, through either processing or the nature of the sounds.
- Provocal Kits (12): The most unconventional kits, with more experimental and strange elements.
The Ableton Live Pack of this library is only available as a separate purchase through Ableton. The Live Pack has additional content including Live Clips, macro controls, and MIDI patterns for every kit. Click on the button below to purchase from the Ableton website.
